Trust, Care, and Security: Meet the New President of Art Work Fine Art Services

This summer has brought many changes, not excluding those within the proverbial walls of Art Work Fine Art Services. Our past President of nearly 30 years, Donald Jackson, entered into retirement and simultaneously ushered in a new era of Art Work Fine Art Services led by new President, Acacia Phillips.

Acacia Phillips gives a thumbs up

A life-long lover of the arts, Acacia has spent the vast majority of her career in the financial services field where she has overseen things like financial marketing, operations, underwriting, risk management, and overall business. Her most recent role before Art Work Fine Art Services was as Chief Membership Officer at a credit union, which solidified her love for being involved in every aspect of the team, especially team-building.

While it may not seem as such on the surface, managing growth and risk at a credit union and running a fine art services business overlap in many aspects. Both deeply rely on building trust-based relationships, maintaining privacy and security of clients’ assets, demonstrating care, giving advice, and exceeding already high expectations.

Since taking ownership of Art Work FAS, Acacia has implemented immediate and long-term goals for the company. First and foremost, she wants to maintain the seamless transition of ownership for both clients and staff, all while prioritizing their safety and peace of mind as the world continues to adjust to the “new normal.” Long-term, Acacia would love to be an advocate for diversity, especially in leadership, in Art Work FAS’ niche industry. On the technical side, Acacia is looking forward to continuously improving Art Work FAS’ already state-of-the-art business tools such as the truck fleet, proprietary systems, and additional warehouse space.

If you happen to spot Acacia outside of the office, you’ll likely find her “touring through take-out,” enjoying some of the top-notch Portland and Seattle eats. She’s lived in Southern California, Chicago, and Florida, but between the artistic culture, temperate climate, and food scene, there’s no place she’d rather call home than the Pacific Northwest.

Acacia is most looking forward to having the opportunity to make a positive impact in the art industry, one that so deeply supports the distribution of creative knowledge, thought, and expression around the world.
