Virtual Art Exhibits in Seattle You Don’t Want to Miss

As the pandemic continues, many museums and galleries have brought their services online, especially with in-person tours still at a halt. With exhibits making an appearance virtually, it is easier than ever to enjoy a wide range of artwork from the comfort and safety of your own home.

We have rounded up five different museums and galleries in Seattle offering virtual exhibits for you to explore on their website. Grab a snack, settle in, and explore some incredible artwork provided to us by the Emerald City.

Tacoma Art Museum

Join the Tacoma Art Museum with TAM at Home. This program offers many projects for you to explore. TAM has developed videos and walkthroughs of their galleries and exhibitions, their most recent projects include Forgotten Stories: Northwest Public Art of the 1930s and The Naturalist & The Trickster. They also have resources for guided meditation with a work of art from the museum. If you feel inspired, check out their art projects geared to help you with your own creations.

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art knows how essential art is to communities, especially during these uncertain times. #BIMAfromHome has created tour videos of their exhibitions guided by their curators. Explore Paul Rucker’s Forever, or Into the Garden by Kimberly Townbridge. You can also enjoy their various concerts, panels, virtual artist talks, and recipes from the BIMA Bistro in your own space.

FRYE Museum

Enjoy exhibitions from the FRYE Museum with FRYE From Home. On their website, you can virtually explore artworks from their various projects, including reading wall text and viewing photographs. They are also showcasing activities and discussions to go along with each exhibition. Dive into a guided artwork discussion with their Education Coordinator on Yasu Eguchi or Chen Chi.

Stonington Gallery

Stonington Gallery focuses on exhibiting an exciting collection of contemporary artwork from the Pacific Northwest. On February 4th, they will begin showcasing Delving Deep: An Exhibition of Works by Rick Bartow. This beautiful, solo exhibit is filled with pastels, drypoints, monotypes, and sculptures. You can explore this inspiring exhibit on their website where they have photos and detailed descriptions of each piece.

Patricia Rovzar Gallery

The Patricia Rovzar Gallery, located in downtown Seattle, exhibits contemporary artwork in a variety of mediums. Their most recent exhibition, Homage, by Patrick LoCicero, is available on their website to view and for inquiries. The exhibit is inspired by artists from history who have impacted LoCicero’s development as a creator.

We are anxiously awaiting the day when we can go back to museums and galleries and experience exhibits in person again. In the meantime, we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with the Seattle art community online. We hope you will join us in taking the opportunity to enjoy these beautiful pieces.
