Public Art Contest: Scavenger Hunt Around the City of Seattle

The city of Seattle is a center for innovation and creativity. The Emerald city is teeming with artwork – if you take a stroll through downtown, you will find a plethora of public art to enjoy. The pieces enrich Seattle’s urban landscape and can be found in plazas, streetscapes, and parks, along with civic and corporate buildings. In fact, there are over 400 pieces of public artwork located throughout the sprawling landscape.

Here at Art Work FAS, we love public art. We have had the opportunity to install and transport many pieces specifically in Seattle. In an effort to share our passion for public art with all of you, we are excited to share a contest to help you connect with and share all the wonderful pieces across the Emerald City. Read on to discover how you can participate in our public art contest.

How to Join Our Public Art Contest

Are you ready to explore the city of Seattle? We designed a contest to help you find amazing public art located throughout the area. Entering our contest is easy!

  • Post four photos of public art around the city of Seattle via Instagram during the month of September
  • Include four unique descriptions with each post. Your caption should include the name of the piece along with the artist (if available) and what the artwork means to you
  • Include our contest hashtag, #SeattleArtSeen
  • Tag our Instagram, @ArtWork_FAS, so we can see what incredible public art pieces you discover

The best part about this contest? You get the opportunity to explore and find four works of public art that speak to you. The contest is not limited to any public art pieces in Seattle.

Public Art Contest Grand Prize

On October 8th, one eligible winner will be selected at random to receive our grand prize of two tickets to three museums around the Emerald City. The contest winner will be announced on our Instagram page, @ArtWork_FAS.

In order to be eligible to receive this prize, contest participants must meet all requirements listed and showcase all four posts on Instagram.

  • I’ve noticed large public artworks disappearing in Seattle recently. What happened to the Lichtenstein Typewriter Eraser sculpture in the Olympic Sculpture Park on the hillside off Elliott? Or the Botero Adam sculpture on Second Avenue?
