Love for fine art is in the air this February at museums in the Pacific Northwest. All across Washington and Oregon, artists are displaying collections and art installations just in time for Valentine’s Day holiday.

Here are some limited-time Valentine’s Day art installations and exhibits you’ll want to add to your itinerary.

Portland Valentine’s Day Art Installations

Portland Winter Light Festival

All throughout the city, the Portland Winter Light Festival is displaying a pop-up style Valentine’s Day art installation. Annually, this festival is held in February by the Willamette Light Brigade to help bring awareness to artists in the community. This art installation covers miles of neighborhoods and makes the perfect scavenger hunt-style display for Valentine’s Day.

Coos Art Museum – Prefontaine Memorial Gallery

Known as the cornerstone of visual arts for communities in the Oregon Southern Coast, Coos Art Museum is home to over 600 fine pieces in their permanent collection. Currently on display is the Prefontaine Memorial Gallery, featuring paintings from Seattle-based artist Chris Hopkins and numerous photos and tributes to hometown hero Steve Prefontaine. This on-of-a-kind display provides an intimate experience for local fans.

Woodside Braseth Gallery – “Inside Out” New Paintings by Susan Bennerstrom

Now through February 13, Woodside Braseth Gallery hosts “Inside Out” by Susan Bennerstrom. This winter exhibition features Bennerstrom’s newest paintings inspired by her recent trip to Morocco. During her travels, she became entranced by the community’s stillness and developed these introspective pieces. The quiet beauty and thoughtfulness of her fine art paintings offer a great opportunity to enjoy her experience with others.

AMcE Creative Arts – ”Metaplay” by Soo Hong

Brand new to the AMcE Creative Arts gallery in Seattle, Soo Hong’s exhibition explores the unrooted human condition and her own nomadic life experiences. In colorful and abstract paintings on display, art enthusiasts can enjoy an intimate look into the immigrant experience Hong shares in each of her pieces.
